FIRE: They quite literally control fire. They are resistant to heat and cannot be burned. Less experienced elementals must have the element around them for them to be able to do anything. More experienced elementals can pull fire out of thin air, and can even control the heat in the air, while master elementals have enough power to make a volcano erupt if they so wish. Master elementals can also superheat the temperature of the air to create a sort of plasma, or liquid fire.
WATER: They quite literally control water. They can’t get wet, unless they want to, of course, and they can hold their breath longer than most, though not forever! Less experienced elemental must have the element around them for them to be able to do anything. More experienced elementals can pull water out of thin air, while master elementals cause tsunamis.
ICE: They quite literally control ice. They are resistant to cold and cannot be hurt by cold. Less experienced elementals must have the element around them for them to be able to do anything. More experienced elementals can pull ice out of thin air, and can even control the coldness in the air, while master elementals can create ice ages in small areas around them.
LIGHT: They quite literally control the light. They are resistant to brightness, and cannot be sunburned. Less experienced elementals can only control the brightness and small illusions. More experienced elementals can make stronger illusions, ones that look completely real to all around, while master elementals cam make them solid for a short time.
SHADOW: They quite literally control the shadows. They see better in the dark than most, and if they spend too much time without light, then their eyes will change so they can see perfectly in the dark, but be completely blind in light. Less experienced elementals can control the shadows. More experienced elementals can call on demons to help them, but don’t have complete control. Master elementals have complete control.
LIGHTNING: They quite literally control electricity. They are resistant to any harm to do with electricity. Less experienced elementals must have the element around them for them to be able to do anything. More experience elementals can pull electricity out of thin air, while master elementals can bring stormy weather around just for lightning. Any elemental can direct the lightning when it’s there, and any can use it to heal or harm.
SPIRIT: They control the spirits of the dead. Less experienced elementals can half control the spirits that show themselves. More experienced elementals can call spirits to them, along with knowing a person’s known (the ones they know they’re feeling) feelings. It is also possible for them to bring their feelings onto another person, so that they feel what the elemental is feeling. Master elementals can completely control one spirit, along with knowing a person’s known and inner (ones they don’t know about) feelings. They can also get a sense of a person's fears, not so much the ones like fear of heights or snakes, but more the fear of being rejected or something. These elementals can also get the 'night eyes' that the shadows do if they spend too long in the dark.
EARTH: They quite literally control the earth. Animals tend to take a liking to them, and they have quite the green thumb. Less experienced elementals have to actually have a seed in the ground, or a sprout already growing, to do anything. They can only speed up the growth by a month or two. Animals tend to stick around them, and they can understand the animals better than most. More experienced elementals can form the seed, but they can only speed the growth up by a year or two, and they cannot form something that comes after the seed. By this time, there is one particular type of animal that has taken a liking to the elemental. Though they can still understand the others, they see this type most often. More experienced elementals can also move the earth around them, creating fissures or sinkholes is they wish, or simply moving a pack of soil or rocks or such from one place to another. Master elementals can not only form the seed, but have it completely grown in a matter of minutes. They have one animal from their species that is their companion, like a familiar. Not only do they understand them, but it’s like they have their own way of communicating. Master elementals have enough strength to cause the earth to quake beneath them.
AIR: They quite literally control the air. Less experienced elemental must have their element around them to be able to do anything. More experienced elementals can pull a wind from no where, and can create storms as great as hurricanes and tornadoes. Master elementals can pull the air out of a place, making anything in that place die, or bring air into a place that normally wouldn’t have air.
WEATHER: They quite literally control the weather. Less experienced elemental have to have a storm around them to be able to do anything. More experienced elementals can create a storm from anywhere, and also dispel a current storm. Master elementals can actually create birds, sort of like phoenixes (fire) that trail a certain element or such behind them when they fly for their use as either weapons or rides.
TIME: They control the illusion of time. There are two different types of time elementals, inner illusionists and external illusionists. Inner illusionists affect only themselves. They make it seem as if time has either slowed down or sped up, though to everyone else, it’s completely normal. External illusionists affect others. They make it seen as if time has slowed down or sped up for others, while to themselves or those not affected, it’s normal. Less experienced elementals only affect one person, while more experienced ones can affect a large group. Master elementals can affect someone who’s not around them, though they have to have met the person before and they can only affect one person that way.
GEMSTONES: They control the essence of gems. They are much like alchemists, and have to have gems to do anything. Less experienced elementals must have a gem to do anything, and it takes a lot of training and concentration before they are able to awaken the power from a pure gem. They can use the powder readily. More experienced elementals don't have to concentrate as hard to unlock the power. They can also mix together the gems to form different powers, and powders are even easier for them to use. Master elementals don't have to concentrate at all, the gems power are unlocked instantaneously for them. They can also shift through the earth beneath them with their minds to find gems in the area, and pull them up to them if any are there. Note that not everywhere will have all gems.
